The example illustrated on the left side has the original FD mount, with a 'breech-lock' (i.e a twist-ring to fasten the lens on), the example on the right side has the 'New FD' mount without ring. This lens doesn't seem quite as sharp as the new FD, but it doesn't seem to be as glowy either.
